Meanwhile, many fans criticized the Dolphins’ medical team for allowing the young QB to start the game despite suffering a concussion in the previous game against the Buffalo Bills. Former 3-time Super Bowl champion Shannon Sharpe initially took a dig at the Dolphins for mishandling Tagovailoa’s injury.
Earlier, he tweeted, “Wonder IF* Tua/Dolphins call this a bck injury. Can’t want to hear the diagnosis.“

However, he deleted that tweet, as he felt it was insensitive. Later, he clarified his comments in another tweet, as he said, “I deleted my previous post because it wasn’t the right thing to say. I apologize for my lack of sensitivity dealing with the injury. I believe the Dolphins lied about Tua injury on Sunday and put him in this predicament. Again, I apologize for lapse in judgement.“

It is worth noting that initially, the medical staff of the Dolphins and Tagovailoa thought it was a back injury, as he was struggling to walk during the previous game. According to reports, the Dolphins consulted with an independent doctor, which also came as the same.
After Tagovailoa left the field unconscious, many pundits criticized the Dolphins, including the ‘undisputed’ host Sharpe. However, many fans did not like Sharpe’s earlier tweet, but many of them also agreed with him.

Meanwhile, one fan wanted to hold accountable the NFL and the Dolphins for not taking the injury seriously.
I think it’s ok to criticize a franchise if they can’t keep him healthy. At what point do we start holding franchises accountable for abusing players for monetary gains???? Sad state of @NFL and even worse for the @MiamiDolphins med staff https://t.co/fGUfAl6JiV
