NFL Honors is a tradition that started 11 years ago. It is an award show that honors the players of that respective season. Every year the National Football League holds this award show in the city that hosts the Super Bowl, on the night before the biggest game of the year.

For the first time in the history of the NFL, this season’s NFL Honors will not be taking place before the Super Bowl. It will air live on Thursday, February 10, 2022, from Los Angeles’ YouTube theater. The Prime-time award show is expected to go live at 9 p.m. ET on various TV channels and streaming services like ABC, NFL Network, and ESPN+.
The NFL announced some big changes to this year's NFL Honors:
– Won't be the night before the Super Bowl. This year it will be on a Thursday night.
– Show will air live, instead of being pre-recorded.

Mark Quenzel, the head of Content for NFL Media said, “We are thrilled to work with a new partner in ABC, ESPN, and the Walt Disney Company to bring this annual event and the star power associated with it to even greater and higher levels than ever before.”
The Red carpet show will start airing an hour before the Honors on the night of February 10th at 8 p.m. EST on the NFL network. This event will lead up to the award ceremony. In the coming days, more details about this year’s awards will be announced.

Football fans couldn’t be happier after learning that the Honors will be live this year. Even though the ceremony aired on the same day for the past 10 years, all the winners and the results used to get leaked online, spoiling the excitement of everyone. The first-ever NFL Honors aired on February 4, 2012, in the Murat Theatre, Indianapolis, Indiana. Some winners from that year are Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers. He won the AP MVP of the year award. Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints received the AP Offensive Player award.
San Francisco 49ers’ Jim Harbaugh won the AP head coach of the year award, and Matthew Stafford, the quarterback who played for the Detroit Lions, was the AP Comeback Player of the Year. There were many more awards distributed that year. The popularity of the Honours has only grown ever since.
