The uncertainty around the future of Baker Mayfield is evergrowing. He had a terrible season last year, due to which the Browns missed the playoffs. As a result, it raised the eyebrows of people around the franchise on whether he is the right option for the future or not.
Furthermore, the addition of Deshaun Watson by the Browns has made Baker realize that his future doesn’t lie in Cleveland anymore. Unsurprisingly, he has already made it clear that he wants out and handed a trade request immediately.

However, the biggest surprise of the whole saga was the lack of interest by other teams in acquiring Baker. The former 1st pick has had no suitors yet since he made it public that he wants out. As a result, there are growing concerns around Baker’s camp about his future in the NFL.
Former NFL player and current FOX Sports Analyst Shannon Sharpe had some interesting words for Baker Mayfield. Shannon claimed that the other teams have given up on the Browns quarterback on his show Undisputed.
Shannon Sharpe claims teams have given up on Baker Mayfield
Talking about Baker Mayfield, Shannon Sharpe said, “They seem to have given up on Baker Mayfield, as of right now. The good thing, that is in Baker’s favor is they are not playing football currently. So he still has what June, July, August to heal up and go see what happens then.”
.@ShannonSharpe on whether the NFL has given up on Baker:
"It's coming down to teams not wanting $19M on their cap. But $19M for a QB that's any good, is peanuts…Baker is going to end up on the list with Jeff George and JaMarcus Russell." pic.twitter.com/X7BI3KneCx

Shannon later said, “Everybody else is either drafting a quarterback or trading for quarterbacks, and your guy is on the outside of the fence looking in, and considering he is the No.1 overall draft pick just 4 years ago… how the mighty have fallen.”
Shannon Sharpe clearly believes that no team is willing to take a chance on Baker Mayfield. Notably, because they don’t want his salary on their cap to be a backup to someone else.

Will any team take a chance on Baker?
The chances of any team willing to take a chance on Baker Mayfield are gradually getting lesser day by day. The teams who were interested in getting him have already acquired quarterbacks through the draft.
Whereas the rest of the teams are quite stable at the quarterback position. Notably, one team that didn’t draft a new QB was the Seattle Seahawks. However, their head coach Pete Carrol has already said that their team isn’t looking to trade for a veteran quarterback. As a result, Baker’s chances of finding a new team have got even less.
