There is perhaps no player in the history of the national football league that can contend with the greatness of Tom Brady. Super Bowls, Super Bowl MVPs, regular-season MVP awards, you name it, Brady won it.
After spending more than two decades with the New England Patriots, the legendary quarterback made the switch to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020. While his critics considered this to be the end of his legacy, the evergreen quarterback shut them down in typical Tom Brady fashion.
Guiding his side to Super Bowl success in his very first season, Brady proved to the world yet again why he is undeniably the GOAT. While Brady’s seven Super Bowl rings are something that no active player can come close to, we take a look at some of his individual laurels, specifically, his NFL MVP awards.

Tom Brady and his NFL MVP awards over the years
Drafted 199th overall by the New England Patriots back in the 2000 NFL Draft, the world had no idea about what the little known quarterback from Michigan alum was on his way to achieve.
While Brady has multiple NFL records under his belt, when it comes to NFL MVP awards, the quarterback has accumulated three over the years.

Brady’s first MVP award came back in the year 2007 when he guided his team to an unthinkable 16-0 season. With 50 touchdowns and nearly 5,000 passing yards, 2007 remains Brady’s best season from an individual standpoint. But ultimately, Brady’s MVP form was not enough to see New England win a Super Bowl ring as they fell short to the New York Giants in Super Bowl XLII.
Brady’s next MVP award followed in the year 2010. But this time his heroics wasn’t enough to even see his side feature in the Super Bowl.
His most recent MVP award came in the 2017 season. With over 4,500 passing yards, the quarterback guided his side back to the Super Bowl to take on the Philadelphia Eagles. But history yet again repeated itself.
The Eagles claimed their first-ever Super Bowl crown and MVP Tom Brady lost out once again. Despite throwing for over 500 yards in that game, Brady’s Pats fell short 41-33 thanks to some “Philly Magic.”
Amidst all this, a surprising theme emerges. Whenever Brady claims an MVP title, he misses out on a Super Bowl ring. And that isn’t something that doesn’t happen quite often.
