Rob Gronkowski might be off the field and living a retired life. But it looks like TE is getting bored and missing the thrill of the game. There were rumblings that Tommy and Gronky would return to make their case for the Lombardi. But the former NFL TE expressed his interest in joining a franchise close to home despite TB12’s struggles this year.

During the ‘New Heights’ podcast with Jason and Travis Kelce, Rob Gronkowski accepted his desire to join the Buffalo Bills before his retirement. The former NFL tight end also revealed that he was in conversations with the team.

Rob Gronkowski was on the verge of becoming New York’s absolute favorite tight end. He mentioned, “Now that I’m not playing no more, I’m like, ‘Dang.’ I thought about that, how cool it would be to play for the Buffalo Bills. I actually thought about it. When Tom [Brady] retired this year, I didn’t really feel like playing football again after this year. I was like, ‘Eh, Tom retired. Let me check out some other teams.’ I was actually in talks with the Buffalo Bills a little bit.”

Since Gronk is an Amherst, N.Y., native and is an ardent Bisons supporter, the pairing looks like a no-brainer. It would also explain the Bills’ interest in bringing the TE back home in March 2022. However, it looked like things did not materialize between both ends. Despite not having Gronkowski on board, the Buffalo Bills are still the fan favorites to win Super Bowl LVII.

Gronkowski opened his career with the New England Patriots and had a successful run with them. But his words may showcase that being with the franchise is not an easy thing to deal with.

It was not a pleasant time for Gronk with the Patriots. Retirement is probably treating him better.
