Houston Texans GM Nick Caserio almost outrightly did not rule out trading away his franchise QB Deshaun Watson. The wantaway QB has been in the headlines for the entire 2021 NFL season looking at greener pastures. Watson has also been making the news for the wrong reasons because of his 22 civil lawsuits for sexual misconduct. His recent appearance on the 610 radio show was a revealing interview about the Texans and their QB situation.

That Watson wasn’t even being designated as an active roster player is the writing on the wall for the QB. The radio show interview only did fuel fan theory about his imminent departure from the team from Texas. The 3-time Pro Bowl QB was one of the top emerging talents as he did the league in passing yards (4,823) in 2020.

The now renegade QB was gunning for a trade to the then coach Brian Flores’ Miami Dolphins franchise. But ever since the firing of Flores from the Dolphins, the trade talk has kind of been stalling.

While casting doubt over Watson on playing in a Texans jersey, Caserio states, “There’s been some commentary that more than likely would not be the case. I think we just have to be open-minded and just take the information and process it, then ultimately make the decision we feel makes the most sense for everybody involved, whatever that looks like.”
Caserio aims to make the best of the worst situation the Texans currently find themselves in. He neither ever confirms that Watson is out while never dismissing that he will play again. But his current law enforcement cases are a headache for any franchise, including the Texans, hoping to get him on the field. If the accusations against the player do ring true, then he will be a difficult liability.

Despite the enormous talent that Watson brings to the table, he might be too hot to handle commodity. It is a very confusing situation for prospective stockholders. There is a definite show of interest in the controversial figure that QB Deshaun Watson remains in the NFL.
