Ahead of the anticipated game fans were treated to disheartening news. Early Sunday morning, a former Patriots player allegedly landed in trouble that led to his arrest. Here’s a look into the reported incident.
Tom Brady’s former teammate faced arrest

Stevan Ridley was arrested on Sunday morning at a nightclub in Ridley’s hometown Natchez, Mississippi. The former New England Patriots running back was charged with disorderly conduct. The RB, who was active on the Patriots’ roster for four years, was on the championship team in the 2014 season but did not play in the postseason due to injury.
Reports indicated that he was arrested at 1 AM but subsequently made bail and was released. According to Adams County Sheriff’s office records, his bond was reportedly set at $750.

The 34-year-old, who played at LSU, was drafted by the Patriots in 2011. Despite playing alongside the likes of Tom Brady, the RB couldn’t find much luck in establishing himself in the league.
Stevan Ridley didn’t have much luck in the NFL
The New England Patriots were crowned with the Super Bowl title in 2014. Stevan Ridley’s name holds a place on that roster. But injuries caused the RB’s placement on IR during the postseason. Shortly thereafter, Ridley was released from the team.

Despite his sour history with the team, the RB penned a heartfelt note addressed to Brady when he announced his first retirement early last year. Ridley took to Instagram to post a picture of the two of them. During the four years, after his departure from New England, he had brief stints with other teams including the Falcons and Steelers.
