Antonio Brown seems to have an uncanny knack for finding himself in controversies. For the past few months, the co-owner of Albany Empire has gotten himself into countless disputes. Moreover, he seemed to be set on his mind that his new team would dominate the NAL first, then move to other reputable leagues with the same intentions. There were even plentiful rumors about him making a return to the NFL, but amidst the recent events, it all seems highly likely.
It has been almost 19 months since Brown’s last game in the NFL, which ended in an outburst on the field. He was then released from the Buccaneers and has been kept out of the league to this day. Throughout his long history of causing shenanigans, the most recent one even grabbed the attention of NFL legend, Will Compton.

Brown’s love child, the Albany Empire, has been under tremendous scrutiny lately. While the team was accused of not paying their players and coaches, co-owner, Antonio Brown made outrageous claims in a recent interview and captured the whole NFL world’s attention with his shirtless appearance. The video apparently went viral after his team got kicked out of the NAL for failing to meet the payment deadline. The co-host of the Sports podcast “Bussin’ with The Boys,” Will Compton, mocked Brown by sharing his shirtless interview with the caption, “Antonio Clown at it again”

Compton followed up his tweet by adding, “Time to get back in the lab because this is spoof material” in the comment section, and hinting he will soon have a discussion spree about Brown’s chaotic ownership saga. The now-viral interview took place just before his team got sacked from the NAL, and has now become a laughing matter all over the internet.

Brown made numerous claims in the interview, including giving careers to NAL athletes and even leading the team to better football leagues. Even though these claims do sound nice, he hasn’t been able to fulfill most of them. His recent claim of paying $150000 for a single match to Cam Newton while his coaches and athletes were getting stiffed became the laughing matter in his own league as well.
The downfall of Antonio’s Empire
A few months ago, the Super Bowl champ announced that he was retiring from football for good. Soon after, he ended his retirement to announce that he is willing to play for the Ravens this upcoming season, which was also halted due to little to no interest from the team. Brown has been trying really hard to get back in the league for a while now, be it through his ownership of the NAL’s AE, or his constant social media activity that includes him wearing the Ravens’ jersey.

Brown hasn’t been either successful or truthful for the good part of this year. He even announced making a comeback with him as a player rather than an owner of Albany Empire. The plan was also scratched as he stood in the owner’s lounge while audiences poured into the stadium to watch him play. Nevertheless, now it’s completely out of the picture as the team is no longer part of the NAL. There are numerous speculations about Brown and the league as well regarding this ordeal. Brown has even accused the former owner of his new team a while back of alleged negligence. The whole thing is yet to unfold before us in the near future.
