In the early days of the week, DeAndre Hopkins has finally sealed his fate. Following the announcement on 17th July, the Titans will officially field the former Cardinals WR for the upcoming season. Since D-Hop has signed a 2-year contract with the Titans worth a guaranteed 26 million which could rise over $32 million pending incentives.

But this has also irked many fans against the talented WR as he bagged a titanic contract. D-Hop took to Twitter just hours later to drop a nitrogen bomb equivalent response to those set against him.

His move to the Titans arrives after he completed 10 years in the NFL as a WR. He spent 7 of them with the Houston Texans and the last three with the Arizona Cardinals, pushing him into the scene as one of the best WRs in the league. The switch to Tennessee has inspired many fans to suggest he is not interested in being competitive anymore.

D-Hop went ahead and responded with a subtle jab to those doubting his ambition. A blend of kill ’em with kindness with the toughness of the WR, Hopkins seems to relish the hate and the challenge of moving to the Titans. He would tweet, “I always loved having haters and doubters but I appreciate it even more now. Titan up!!”

While the announcement places him in the middle of the Tennessee camp, it wasn’t so obvious a while ago. More than a couple of franchises were looking to bring in the 5x Pro Bowl winner to their camp.

Upon refusing to commit to the Cardinals, D-Hop opened the door for a new team to swoop in for his signature. In a decision that was fueled by getting the best deal, Hopkins entertained more than a couple of offers. The likes of the New England Patriots joined Tennessee Titans in the race for his signature before the preseason began.

He would touchdown with the Patriots and the Titans in the past weeks, with reports murmuring the interest from other franchises as well. Dallas Cowboys was one that sprang up as a potential contender to bring in the WR, but it never materialized.

DeAndre Hopkins may have made a masterstroke of a decision by joining the Titans. Or it could be the decision that puts in motion the downfall of his career. The fans can only wait and watch as it unfolds over the next 2 years.
