Such surprising games are a rarity in the NFL, and that happened on Sunday afternoon. The New York Giants staged their most significant comeback win since 1949. Despite a dismal start against the Arizona Cardinals, the Giants trailed by 20 points at halftime. While they managed to score early in the third quarter, the Cardinals promptly responded, leaving the Giants trailing by 21 points. What happened next came at a cost after Saquon Barkley was carted off the field.

The RB charged up the middle with a 13-yard touchdown run, leveling the score in the second quarter against the Washington Commanders, and ran for more than 50 yards. But, unfortunately, this remarkable win came at a cost, as Saquon Barkley suffered an ankle injury near the end of the fourth quarter. Just hours later, the brave athlete shared an ‘angle’ message to showcase his prowess.

Historically, the Giants hadn’t made a comeback to win after trailing by 20 or more points since November 19, 1950, against the Baltimore Colts. Their last 21-point comeback dated back to 1949 when they achieved it against the Chicago Cardinals. In this game, the team mounted an impressive comeback, scoring 24 consecutive points to secure a 31-28 victory and avoid a potentially dismal 0-2 start to the season. However, the victory came at a cost as Barkley was carted off the field amid a painful ankle injury.

A few hours ago, Saquon Barkley, the Giants running back, posted a video story on his Instagram account. The video features a breathtaking display of his speed as he dashes towards the end zone and dives in for a touchdown just before the sideline, leaving Giants cheerleaders and fans in awe.

He captioned the story with, “This angle 🔥🔥” This clip is from the game against the Cardinals on Sunday at State Farm Stadium, where Barkley caught a 9-yard touchdown pass from QB Daniel Jones. To celebrate the victory, Giants’ tight end Darren Waller too came up to him playfully headbutting, and seizing the attention of the spectators.

However, despite scoring a touchdown and savoring an exhilarating victory with his team, Barkley’s joy was overshadowed by the specter of a potential loss due to his ankle injury.

Saquon Barkley, a towering six-footer at 26 years of age, stands out in a league of his own. Drafted as the second overall pick by the New York Giants in the 2018 draft, Barkley has consistently delivered sensational performances. He earned Pro Bowl honors twice, in 2018 and 2022. However, one blemish on his otherwise stellar career is his injury history. In the recent game, Barkley’s ankle took an awkward twist at the bottom of a pile following a run up the middle with just over a minute remaining in the final quarter.

After the rushing attempt, he remained on the field, needing assistance to reach the Giants’ bench. He could hardly put any weight on his right leg and expressed his frustration by slamming his helmet on the sideline. New York’s medical staff taped Barkley’s ankle on the bench, but he was noticeably limping. Subsequently, Barkley was carted off to the locker room, for ankle X-rays. Moreover, reports suggest Barkley suffered only a sprained ankle, with an MRI scheduled for confirmation on Monday.
