Dak Prescott’s injury dealt a huge blow to the Dallas Cowboys and their massive fanbase. The fourth-year quarterback suffered a compound ankle fracture in yesterday’s game. New York Giants’ defensive tackle, Logan Ryan, was the player who lunged at Dak at the AT&T Stadium.
Almost immediately, Prescott was taken to a local hospital and tests revealed that he had suffered a compound right ankle fracture. He underwent surgery and has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
Here’s what Logan Ryan said about Dak following Sunday’s unfortunate accident.

Dak Prescott was playing the 2020 NFL season on a $31.4 million franchise tag. His contract renewal talks are bund to kick off towards the end of the season, if not earlier owing to the amount of time he has on his hands.
Ryan opines that Prescott should be given a $500 million contract extension, similar to that of Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes.
Ryan said, “I feel terrible. It was a routine football play …You’ve got a guy, and I am in a similar position, he is scratching and clawing at one year on his deal to try and get rewarded, try to do the right thing, try to show up to work, try to lead his team, try to get a lucrative contract.
“He had to come out and prove it this year, so for him to get this type of injury…That’s why I feel like Dak. I hope he gets $500 million when he comes back. He deserves it. He is a hell of a quarterback,” Ryan said.

Prescott is out for a period of 6 to 8 months at the very least. He underwent surgery on Sunday night and will start rehabilitation over the coming weeks.
In the meantime, the Cowboys hope that backup quarterback Andy Dalton steps up to fill the void left by their point man. In fact, the way the former Cincinnati Bengals man led the Cowboys to a win against the Giants after Dak was carted off in the third quarter, was a promising sign.
