Former Kansas City Chiefs, safety Tyrann Mathieu has now joined his home team New Orleans Saints. With this deal, he is back to the place where it all began. The former LSU Tiger player was called upon on the Rich Eisen Show, where he shared about playing for the Saints. They further talked positively about LSU’s newly appointed Head Coach Brian Kelly.

Rich Eisen asked Kelly on the show about how he is going to feel while he is in the Superdome before his first game? To which, Tyrann had a straight answer – “That’s going to be emotionally man. Obviously, you know this is a team and a program that really I watched you know my whole life growing up and you know I can either go back to.”

Tyrann definitely has an emotional connection with the team. While growing up in Louisiana, he has always supported the Saints while watching the matches on his television set. He is looking forward to this new chapter and hopes he will have a better chance of impacting the community. 

 

He is also quite excited to be close to the LSU Tigers program. Tyrann further plans to be around and guide the next young rising LSU stars. Also, he will have a great time with Brian Kelly, the head coach of LSU. Eisen asked the Super Bowl champion if he could help kelly with his dance moves?

Can Tyrann Mathieu help LSU’s HC Brian Kelly to teach some dance moves?

Tyrann had some wise words for Brian, “BK is cooler than people give him credit for, man, he’s a cool dude. He’s definitely a bright mind, he’s smart. I’m not a great dancer neither, that’s why I never Griddy or nothing like that. Justin Jefferson and all those young boys, let them get their dance on.”

New Orleans signed a 3-year deal with Tyrann Mathieu this year. He is among the top-15 highest-paid safeties in the game. The Saints bought Tyrann right on time, as he is currently in a very good form. The last season with Kansas, he as a captain led the team to the AFC finals where they lost to Cincinnati Bengals.
