While speaking to USA Today, Gronk spoke about the fact in his eyes, the Dallas Cowboys have a history of being pretenders in the playoffs. His exact words were, “It’s just that history states that they’re pretenders. So over the last you know, over the last couple of years, they’ve been making it to the playoffs and stuff but boom they’re out right away, but this year could be different.” He indicated that the Cowboys have had a poor playoff record in the past. The truth behind Gronk’s words

While it might be a hard pill to swallow, the Dallas Cowboys have not been on top of their game lately. Gronk’s words might not be wrapped in pretty paper, but he was speaking the truth. The Cowboys recently lost an easy one against the Jacksonville Jaguars. For a team as big as the Cowboys, losing a game against a team like the Jaguars is not a very moralizing statement for the fans. They lost the game in overtime with an interception winning the Jaguars the game. However, when Gronk mentioned the possibility of the Cowboys being pretenders seemed to anger the fans.
