Aaron Rodgers is, without a doubt, one of the best quarterbacks the NFL has seen. Many young QBs follow the model set by the Green Bay Packers legend over the years. And it looks like Bryce Young is the latest in that class. Young is gearing up to feature in the 2023 NFL draft later this month. Just before the April 27 challenge, the Alabama QB is looking to emulate Rodgers’ strengths.

Young is one of the top QB prospects in this year’s draft class and is widely expected to go in the first round. He talks so passionately about Rodgers and has obviously been taking notes. The only question is, can he bring all the elements that he talked about into his game?

Bryce Young had all the words of praise ready for Aaron Rodgers. He pointed to the Packers QB’s ability to pass the ball in different scenarios, whether in a clean pocket or by extending the play. He added that he emulates all those things in his style of play.

“He is able to do so much with the lower half and throw from anywhere, but his upper body is so consistent, so still. And, you know, just the accuracy and the confidence that he plays with, that’s something that I try to emulate,” Young said in a video uploaded by Michael Rimmer.

Many analysts have pointed out that Young’s style of play resembles that of Rodgers. His build is not that of a typical NFL QB and he has faced a bit of scrutiny for his height. But teams appreciate him for his swift play in the pocket. Whether he can be the next A-Rod in the league is a matter for the future, but the comparison must have surely excited the fans.

The future of A-Rod

Bryce Young and Aaron Rodgers are at different ends of their career. While one is just starting out, the other has been the face of the Packers franchise. What connects them both is that they are looking for a brand-new team to take their careers forward.

While Young will feature in the NFL draft, Rodgers is looking to move away from Lambeau Field. He has already indicated that he wants to play for New York Jets and the franchise wants him. They are in negotiations with the Packers to find a solution for the trade, although it is taking more time than they would have anticipated.
