However, he proved everyone wrong with his top-notch performance in the last season. In a recent podcast, Purdy opened up about his relations with his fellow teammates.
Brock Purdy recently appeared on Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce’s podcast ‘New Heights’ to discuss a range of topics, including his rookie year, draft process, and teammates. During the conversation, Purdy shared some fun moments, such as George Kittle asking him to throw left-handed during the NFC Championship game along with his real feeling to beat Tom Brady.
Trey Lance’s helpfulness stood out for Brock Purdy

Travis Kelce recently had a conversation with Brock Purdy about who was the most helpful during the season. Brock Purdy acknowledged that Trey Lance was very helpful as was present in all the meetings and provided advice to him and Jimmy Garoppolo when Trey got injured during the season.
?I mean, Trey for sure. Trey Lance, him going down in the season and then being in every meeting, helping Jimmy and then myself, you know, when I got in, Trey was right there just with everything, just advice and I couldn’t appreciate it more,? per Brock Purdy.
Purdy also mentioned that Trey was very supportive and provided guidance when Purdy got his chance to play.
George Kittle was another teammate that Purdy appreciated for bringing joy to the game and reminding him to have fun playing in the NFL.
Kittle’s left-handed throw request
Travis Kelce asked Purdy if George Kittle actually approached him during the NFC Championship game and asked him to throw with his left hand. Purdy said, ?Dude, he wanted to win. He was like, dude, throw at your left hand and I’m like, I can’t.?
When Kelce asked if Purdy had learned to throw left-handed during the off-season, Purdy responded, ?Yeah, man. Got to be ready for anything at this point.? He had been practicing throwing left-handed during the first phase of OTAs and was ready for anything that may come his way.

How did it feel to beat Tom Brady? Travis got the chance to ask Purdy. Purdy was the only player with an undefeated record against him. Purdy’s debut NFL start saw him complete 16/21 attempts for 185 yards and 2 TDs, with a rushing TD, earning a 134.0 passer rating.
Brady praised Purdy’s performance and encouraged him to keep up the good work by saying, “Good playing, my man. You played great. Keep it up. Keep going.”
