A jibe at Deshaun Watson by the favorite author of Donald Trump

The Browns traded in Deshaun Watson from the Texans in the offseason this year. But they never got to field their new asset due to a long suspension that the QB got because of charges against him. But he has been cleared to return to play for the team after serving the punishment. His Browns debut is believed to be against his former team, the Texans.

But author Nick Adams is not happy with the QB’s return to the league. And he made it abundantly clear by a tweet aimed at Watson.

The Browns are coming on the back of a shock win over Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. But Watson comes into Cleveland with a lot of baggage. And it will hang over his head, at least for some time.

The controversy first erupted back in 2021 when Tony Buzbee filed a total of 22 lawsuits against Deshaun Watson on behalf of several women. The lawsuit alleged that Watson had indulged in sexual misconduct with several massage therapists. They rose to 24 by June 2022. The NFL began its investigation into the matter in March 2021 and Buzbee’s clients joined in. Allegations and counter-allegations ensued, but Watson always maintained that he had done nothing wrong.

Watson lost many endorsements due to the severity of the allegations. He did not play in the 2021 season due to the ongoing investigations by both the Police and the NFL. A grand jury cleared him of the criminal charges, but the 24 civil lawsuits remained. Meanwhile, the Texans traded him to the Browns in March 2022.

The NFL investigation concluded that Watson had violated the league’s personal conduct policy. But the disciplinary officer and the league did not agree on the length of punishment. After the disciplinary officer gave him a six-game suspension, the NFL appealed the decision and asked for a longer sentence. Watson then got an 11-game suspension and a $5 million fine. The QB has settled the civil cases with 20 of his accusers.
