Patrick Mahomes is evidently making history with his eye-catching career so far in the NFL. While the player has made 5 straight AFC championship games with the Kansas City Chiefs in 5 seasons as a starter. He has taken over the likes of Aaron Rodgers. However, the fans have questioned whether he can continue this for long following an insane dispute on the sideline with HC Andy Reid.
In the first quarter of the game, Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Arden Key tackled Mahomes. In the process, Key landed on Mahomes’ right ankle, inflicting a lot of pain on the former MVP. After that, the coaching staff sent him back to the locker room to get some x-rays. The QB was not too pleased with the call by Reid. They were filmed having an argument with his HC. Demanding to stay in the game and not be benched or rested.

Fans worry for Patrick Mahomes
In the short clip going viral, Mahomes is fighting his coaching staff’s decision to call him off the field. “Don’t take me out.” the QB screams in the video.

Following the heated discussion on the sidelines, it is the fans of the player who are the most concerned for him. For some of them they believe he could be putting his career on line at such an early stage.

In his absence, backup Chad Henne led the team to a 98 yards scoring drive. The exceptional attempt from the running team and Henne was capped off with a TD throw to Travis Kelce.

Return of the prodigal son
After further assessment of his ankle, Mahomes did get his chance to come back in the game. The 27-year-old was making plays while hobbling and limping on the field. However, the highlight of his game was a 6 yard left-leg jump pass to Marquez Valdes-Scantling to take extend the lead from 3 to 10 points.

The home defense showed up against the Jags and Trevor Lawrence, who questioned the home fans, up in the 4th quarter to secure their 5th consecutive AFC championship game appearance. Chiefs won the game 20-27.
