In the mind of director Gotham Chopra, there was a question that emerged. How do we end the series? Because at the time, Brady was still kicking it on the field. But after announcing his retirement, maybe the director has an idea about how to make that last episode.
The final episode of Man in the Arena: Tom Brady
The documentary series of Tom Brady started airing last year. Every week a new episode aired on ESPN+. The original goal of the series was to reflect on all nine Super Bowl appearances made by Brady. Something seems to have changed. The season finale has not been aired when it was supposed to. Many fans were quick to connect the dots. They believed it was a sign that Brady might retire soon.
Originally, the tenth episode was supposed to focus on Tom Brady’s one and only Super Bowl appearance with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. After a successful two-decade career with the New England Patriots, Tom decided to jump ship. He ended up with the Buccaneers. And he would go on to win the Super Bowl in his very first season at Tampa.
It was supposed to be the plot of the final episode of the season. Brady was going to reflect on his career and continue on. But after the recent turn of events, there have been some changes in the series as well.

Gotham Chopra is the man responsible for bringing this amazing documentary series to life. He already had plans for the tenth episode, But Tom Brady did not agree. The legendary quarterback wasn’t done yet.

After Brady retired, the director had some things to say. “You know I probably had a sort of idea of what this tenth episode would be. And now it changes,” Chopra adds, “We were really careful in some ways not to talk in the first nine episodes too much about Tom Brady’s legacy. I think he was uncomfortable with that because he’s like ‘It’s not legacy time, I’m not done.’ He’s done. I think legacy is fair game.”

The tenth episode is still under production, and it will be out this spring. Tom Brady’s retirement will probably be a big part of the finale.
