Herm Edwards had strong opinions on the matter. Featured on SportsCenter, the former Jets HC, and NFL analyst expressed that Russell Wilson would benefit the most from the Broncos’ new hire.

He said, “He’s been thrown a lifeline with Sean Payton being his head coach and I’m pretty sure Sean Payton has watched film on Russell Wilson and felt ‘You know what? I can help this guy and he can help me'” Edwards also factored in a trait he sees as important- humility.
Although the Wilson-Payton dynamic looks promising, will it bring results? Edwards added, “Are you (Wilson) humble enough to take coaching? Because if you’re humble enough to take coaching, this man (Payton) can help you.” But considering Wilson’s reputation of being a good soldier, the NFL world will be forced to ask the question- Was this season the exception with regard to Wilson’s otherwise successful career?

The narratives spun around Broncos that attributed the causes of their failure range from bad coaching to an even worse QB. But in the case of the latter, history proves otherwise. On the defensive front, a team is a cohesive unit. Can Sean Payton work his magic and stitch the Broncos’ offense back together?
