This fan showed no mercy as he called the Raiders a ‘poverty team.’ He thinks Martinez is better off with his decision.
way less stress than playing for that poverty team

This fan was on the same page as he thinks Martinez took the right call.
Rather sell Pokemon cards than play for the Raiders. I don't blame him

This fan asked the rest of the lot to let the linebacker make his own choices. He addressed the issues that come along with having a long football career and how money is not everything.
He made 60% of his annual salary without having to risk his body and health. Not everyone wants to make a lot of money at the risk of injury. Maybe Blake decided that life had other means of success outside of football. He is in charge of his own happiness and finances.

This fan too let everyone on the thread know that Martinez probably has made a fortune by selling pokemon cards. However, he took down Antonio Brown while he was at it.
I assume He collects pokemon cards and has many of them. He already made a bunch if money playing football. Plus, Pokemon won’t give him concussions and risk destroying his brain. Don’t need another dbag Antonio Brown running around.

This fan called out the content in this post, which seems to leave out some key facts. The headline just emphasized two events and related them.
He’s already made $30M in his 7 year career. Making it sound like he’s made $1M and sold a Pokémon card and dipped 😂

While there was some relation, it wasn’t everything the story was about.

The Blake Martinez story
Martinez was drafted by the Greenbay Packers in 2016. He was a standout performer at Stanford University. The linebacker was traded to the Giants after spending three years in Wisconsin. He signed with the Las Vegas Raiders just a month before announcing his retirement from the game.
In his short stint with the franchise, Martinez was solid on their D-line. In his last appearance as a professional football player, Martinez led the Raiders for the highest number of tackles in their loss against the Jaguars. Though his retirement came in abruptly, the linebacker has earned almost around $30 million over his NFL career.

He will be a huge miss for the Raiders as they lose players through injuries. However, they can’t do much about it as it came as a personal decision for Martinez.
