While fans were speculating it was a serious confrontation, the passer came forward to clarify this issue.

After slaying the Arizona Cardinals in the season opener and showcasing a furious performance against the Chargers in Week 2, this result was pretty unexpected. Especially Mahomes with a confident lineup in offense and defense.
But Matt Ryan kept his grit and resilience and clinched the victory in the final seconds of the fourth quarter. His final drive with rookie Jelani Woods connecting for a 12-yard TD pass stole the show. Only 24 seconds were left on the clock, and suddenly the game shifted towards the Ryans’ zone.
The KC squad was clearly frustrated with Mahomes at the sidelines having a back-and-forth with the Offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy. From a fan’s perspective, it looked like an altercation which Mahomes clarified later on.
The reporters asked the gunslinger about the moment he had with Bieniemy at half-time. “Yeah, I mean, at the end of the day, I wanted to go try and score — that’s just who I am,” Mahomes spoke about the heated discussion. “ I pretty much just said: ‘Let me have a chance at it.”
“Then he was just like, ‘let’s get back in the locker room, and we’ll get something going for the next half,” Mahomes added to his explanation. The quarterback affirmed that it wasn’t a fight, but a normal conversation during a serious game.
Head coach Andy Reid clarifies the situation with Patrick Mahomes
More than Mahomes’ loss in Week 3, this incident became a hot topic of media discussion. The fans were speculating if there had been any cracks in their relationship, but head coach Andy Reid clarified the atmosphere was completely fine, and it was just a desperate Mahomes trying to convert the game.

“He’s a competitive kid. He wants to take advantage of every opportunity I thought was best just with a ride there, but really if you heard the words that were said that wasn’t.” Reid said in the press conference. “I don’t know how it looks to you guys, but it wasn’t a confrontation at all,” he added.
