It was a moment of shock for the entire world when the news emerged of Queen Elizabeth II passing away. Not just world leaders and global institutions, but even athletes from all parts of the globe shared their condolences. The NFL royalty, and Broncos Legend, Peyton Manning, penned a special note for the Queen and shared an iconic photograph from the past.

Her majesty was the longest reigning monarch of the Royal Kingdom, who witnessed the world evolving in front of her eyes and played a significant role in it. During this period, the Queen hosted several personalities in her palace and paid visits to other countries that happen to be the foundation pillars of the world. Every move of hers had the intention of strengthening relationships and working for the betterment of mankind. On one such occasion, Pro-football Hall of Famer Peyton Manning had an esteemed opportunity to meet Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Whitehouse.

It was the time when George W. Bush was the 43rd President of the United States. Learning of her demise, Manning wrote a heartfelt message for the Queen.

“What an honor it was to meet Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. One I will never forget. Her loyalty and service to her country are unrivaled! Rest In Peace Queen Elizabeth II.” the former quarterback wrote on Instagram sharing a photograph.

 

The picture had the then President George W. Bush, First Lady Laura Bush, the Queen, the late Prince Philip, and Manning’s wife, Ashley Manning.

Queen Elizabeth was not just a leader who ruled her kingdom. She was a sports fanatic too. Just five years into assuming power, Queen Elizabeth II made her first visit to the United States as a monarch in 1957. During the visit, she also attended the first and the last American Football game of her life.

It was a college game between Maryland and North Carolina. The hosts, Maryland, came out victorious and the game was since then called theQueens game. “Wonderful, just wonderful” were the words Queen said after watching a nail-biting contest.

Everyone loved Queen Elizabeth II. Ahead of this year’s season opener between the LA Rams and the Buffalo Bills, the entire SoFi stadium observed a two-minute silence on her demise.

The NFL UK posted a tweet about the loss. “We join the world in sending our condolences to The Royal Family on the passing of Queen Elizabeth II,” the Pro-football Hall of Fame wrote on Twitter. They also mentioned the moment when the Queen visited for her first-ever American Football Match at Maryland.

As they say, legends never die. The legacy of Her Majesty is unfazed, and it is the duty of the next in the hierarchy to uphold the dignity of the royal Kingdom and fight for the rights Queen Elizabeth II always stood for. May the noble soul rest in peace!
