Following the draft, the franchises look to continue their deals with the free agents on the market. One player is looking to make the most of this time, with DeAndre Hopkins remaining unattached. He is looking for a new team to call home with the next NFL season just a couple of months away.
DeAndre Hopkins used to play for the Arizona Cardinals between 2020 and 2022. Having completed his two-year contract, he is now on the market and is attracting eyes from various teams in the league. He is one of the top wide receivers in the country having won the Pro Bowl award 5 times between 2015 and 2020, missing out just once in 2016. With teams looking at the WR with serious consideration, Hopkins may have handed one team a significant boost.

New England Patriots invited DeAndre Hopkins to sit down with them. This comes with the fact that they wanted to have a chat about Hopkins joining the Patriots potentially. Hopkins was in town on Wednesday and Thursday to meet with the Patriots. But he walked out without a new contract to his name.

On the Pat McAfee show, Pat talks about DeAndre Hopkins meeting up with the Patriots. McAfee says, “there was boots on the ground in New England by DeAndre Hopkins, going up to New England.” After talking to other teams in the NFL including Tennessee, Hopkins turned to the Patriots. McAfee goes on to add, “All of a sudden he’s going up to New England, he gets out of that building as well. Even though him and Bill Belichick reportedly met one-on-one at the end of the visit.”
Having met with the Patriots, DeAndre Hopkins is looking to wait it out till the end of July if he cannot find a contract that suits his expectations. Hopkins has been in talks with the other teams in the league to explore the best opportunity for him.

Tennessee Titans and the Dallas Cowboys have considered signing the free agent, DeAndre Hopkins. They join the New England Patriots in seeking the WR for their roster. Before coming to town to meet with the Patriots, Hopkins flew out to Nashville to hold talks with the Titans. He was well received by them, with the Titans sending a car to pick him up. They put him up at the CMA Fest but Hopkins left without a deal, anyway.
Cowboys on the other hand have been in the background the entire time. They haven’t sought Hopkins publicly so far, contemplating the decision internally. With reports suggesting Hopkins and Cowboys teaming up as nothing more than smoke.

DeAndre Hopkins has another month and a half before he decides the team he will sign with. The offers on the table may change for the better in the coming weeks. But it could also push him into a corner as he may not get a chance to choose if one of the teams decides to back out, come July.
