There’s nothing more spooky for a child than not being allowed to enjoy candy, especially during Halloween. Well, that was the rule in seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen’s household. Brady and now ex-wife Bündchen laid out some serious ground rules when it came to consuming processed sugars.

Brady and Bündchen were very particular about their family’s diet. It is known that the family only used organic food and shied away from processed consumables. An interview with their chef at the time gave insight into their dietary restrictions and preferences.

No processed sugars for Tom Brady and his family

In a conversation with ‘People Magazine’ in 2016, Bündchen explained that her children were not interested in  Halloween candy. Stating that they don’t consume that kind of sugar in their house the model said that she let her children try one piece of candy.

She added that her children only ended up having a bite and asked their mom to give away the rest of the candy. While stating that her children were not accustomed to regular sweets the model also explained her reasons.

She said, “I said to them, ‘You know, there are so many kids that don’t get candy and you guys got so many, some kids don’t even get one! And they’re like, ‘Oh mom, okay you can give it to them if they don’t get any'”.

Six years later, the star couple announced the finalization of their divorce. The announcement was made in October of 2022 after 13 years of marriage.

Brady’s tumultuous year

The separation of two influential figures caused quite a stir in and outside the NFL world. The former star couple’s relationship reportedly took a downward spiral when Brady announced his retirement and came back to the league.

Brady and Bündchen made their announcement via individual statements on social media. The couple stated that they would continue to co-parent their children and that it remained their topmost priority.

In his twenty-third year in the league, Brady has seen his fair share of ups and downs. The 45-year-old quarterback also opened up about the recent developments in his personal and professional life. Brady made some statements on his podcast, ‘Let’s Go.’

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers star also stated that his current focus was on being a great father to his children and winning games on the field.
