Cincinnati Bengals Quarterback Joe Burrow had a brilliant run in the AFC division; However, he couldn’t recreate that form during his first Super Bowl. QB Joe and the squad were able to pull off a lead in the first half. However, they fell short in front of the star-studded Rams and their incredible defensive front line, which was led by Von Miller & Aaron Donald.

Burrow was constantly getting sacked in the game and tables turned for his team, even after they had the lead. The Rams totally dominated the second half which left fans and critics disappointed and Cin-City’s dream for a Lombardi is at a halt until the next season.

Shannon Sharpe was not impressed with Joe Burrow

Gridiron Football legend Shannon Sharpe wasn’t pleased with what Joe Burrow showcased in the playoffs and is uncertain concerning his destiny. While speaking alongside co-host Skip Bayless on the Skip & Shannon: Unscripted, Jenny Taft asked Sharpe to grade Burrow and his performance.

He said, “I gave him a ‘C’ because I thought he was very average for me going into this entire playoffs. They’ve been winning, but Joe Burrow has not played like he did down the stretch in the regular season. Yeah, I understand he overcame the nine sacks due for 348 yards against Tennessee; but he didn’t get the ball into the end zone, so he’s been very pedestrian.”

He further stated, “He was very average yesterday. Basically, he had two big plays: a 75-yard touchdown to Higgins and a tremendous one-handed catch by Ja’Marr Chase. Other than that, he was 20 of 31 for 122 and zero touchdowns. But Skip, I think you better plug the brakes on this next [Tom] Brady stuff. Okay, let’s just hold on before we start.”

Bengals’ Offensive Front is Disastrous

Apart from Joe Burrow, Shannon Sharpe also expressed concerns about the Bengals’ atrocious offense line, which certainly wasn’t good enough to go toe-to-toe against the Rams. He also blamed the team for Burrow’s ACL & MCL tear, which happened against the Washington Commanders.

Shannon continued, “I understand he was under the rest, but what people were crying about and giving him so much credit for is that he’s been able to perform really well while dealing with this kind of duress. Don’t make it seem like: Oh, his offensive line was bad; they’ve been bad!”
