The Pittsburgh Steelers fans got to witness one of the best QB-WR duos of the past decade. The Steelers were pretty good with Ben Roethlisberger having Antonio Brown as his WR1. They didn’t win the Super Bowl together, but they played quality football.

Brown’s exit from Pittsburg wasn’t one that the WR had hoped for. His career struggled to find balance afterward. AB wasn’t very happy with how he was treated wherever he went. As a result, not many people talked highly about him over the years.

However, recently Ben Roethlisberger spoke highly about Antonio Brown. Retired Steelers QB said,He [AB] was special. The things he could do on a football field was through the roof.” 

Antonio Brown was certainly special during his days in Pittsburgh. He was arguably the best wide receiver of the last decade. Moreover, at one point, Brown became the highest-paid receiver in the league.

With both Brown and Roethlisberger getting older and coming out of their prime years, their split-up was expected. There is no denying the fact that both would have really enjoyed playing alongside each other over the years.

Antonio Brown had forced his way out of the Pittsburgh Steelers. After his exit, he had two terrible stints with the Las Vegas Raiders, and the New England Patriots. Brown later realized how good he had it in Pittsburgh with Ben Roethlisberger, and Mike Tomlin completely trusting him.

In his apology to the Steelers, Brown wrote, “I apologize to those guys for the distractions, the unwanted attention that I probably caused those guys, to the organization… These guys gave me an opportunity when I was 21 years old. I’m forever grateful to those guys, to have the opportunity to not only play with those guys but to be in so many amazing moments.”

Antonio Brown also thanked coach Mike Tomlin and quarterback Ben Roethlisberger in his statement. Brown later went on to win the Super Bowl with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but he will always remember his time in Pittsburgh.
