It was an abrupt end to a promising star. Former NFL defensive end Adrian Dingle passed away at 45. The Clemson University star played 46 games during college times. The cause of his death has not been made public. But his departure has left a big void among many fans and relatives.

On Wednesday, Dingle’s fiancee Amy Bell mourned the athlete’s death on Instagram. It broke many hearts for a reason. The post had a video. In that video, Dingle was seen playing, cuddling, and taking care of their son, Adrian, whom they welcomed in 2018.

An emotional Bell wrote about his partner. “While Adrian was known for his football accomplishments, he was so much more than football.” The loving partner also spoke about his infectious smile and selfless love. Meanwhile, Dingle’s former Chargers teammate Marcellus Wiley remembered him with a photo on Twitter. He posted a photo with the deceased star and it was an indicator of their strong bond.
Dingle graduated from Roberts High School in Holly Hill, South Carolina. Later, he was named the defensive MVP of 1994’s North-South High School All-Star Game. At Clemson, he started as a defensive end during his last three years. It lasted for 34 games.
In NFL history, only one player has died on the field. Chuck Hughes from Detroit Lions died at 28 on October 24, 1971. The game was against the Bears. Hughes was on the sidelines. With ten minutes left, he came to the field. He caught a pass, but with 62 seconds left, Hughes died after a sudden collapse. Some Bears players thought he was faking an injury to get an extra timeout. But he wasn’t, and thus a life was lost even though the doctors could try CPR.

When Dingle helped the Tigers
The talented campaigner supported the Tigers to “three bowl games over his career”, the university said. After registering success there, Dingle went pro after being drafted by the Chargers in the 1999 NFL draft’s fifth round. He played with the team until 2004.

Dingle’s best year in his career was 2003. He had six sacks and 16 total tackles for loss. Totally, he registered 37 tackles. At the time of reporting, the funeral arrangements for Dingle aren’t final yet. NFL fans also poured in their tributes after coming to know about the death. Meanwhile, life is over, but the memories aren’t for the departed star.
