When Aaron Rodgers went to the New York Jets, many reports suggested that he had a wish list. He wanted the Jets to sign some players on his advice. While the franchise did go on a shopping spree, they couldn’t land one of the biggest names on the alleged list, Odell Beckham Jr. Now Rodgers’ new partner-in-crime has revealed a huge OBJ offer from the Jets that never saw the light of the day.

Rodgers left the Green Bay Packers after spending 18 seasons of his career at Lambeau Field. The Jets went after him right after the 2022 regular season and after weeks of drama, the trade finally went through. But what about OBJ, another big target for the Jets? Turns out they did want to sign the former New York Giant.

Sauce Gardner has revealed that the Jets had almost signed Odell Beckham Jr. The defensive rookie of the year said in a recent interview that OBJ was so close to being a Jet that he had already decided he would wear the number 7 for the team. What a signing that could have been for new QB Aaron Rodgers.

“Odell, he wanted to play here. It was to the point where he was picking his jersey. He was telling me, like, ‘Hey, ask so-and-so if I can get the jersey.’ He was going to wear number 7,” the cornerback told SI.com.

The Ravens signed the free agent on a one-year deal worth $18 million. Out of this money, $15 million comes in the form of guaranteed money. That was the kind of contract OBJ was looking for. And he got it in Baltimore, so the Jets’ offer never saw the light of the day.
