For years we’ve heard praises of the Bill Belichick system. For years, many have discredited Tom Brady’s achievements by attributing them to the success of the Belichick system. Well, the truth seems to be out in the open like a public secret now. Since Brady’s departure from the team, many former players have come out with criticism of Belichick. And now, there is one more to come out in open about the head coach and his contributions to the team.

As the situation with Mac Jones in the Patriots continues to develop, things are on a downward spiral for one of the league’s most storied franchises. Former NFL QB and analyst Robert Griffin III tweeted about the situation with Mac Jones, the Patriots’ second-year quarterback.
According to reports, the team has been looking to ship Jones to other teams this off-season. But the players certainly aren’t happy with these choices.

Dissecting the criticism of the ‘Patriot Way’
This is not the first time former players have criticized Belichick since Brady’s departure. In fact, there seems to be a growing sentiment among former players and analysts that Brady was the driving force behind the Patriots’ success. Belichick’s coaching was only a small part of the overall talent present on the Patriots’ roster.
This sentiment is not entirely unfounded. Brady’s success with the Patriots is well-documented. He has won more Super Bowls than any other player in NFL history. Belichick, on the other hand, has had a mixed record as a head coach outside of his time with Brady. Belichick’s system and its flaws have always had the safety cushion of being able to fall back on Tom Brady. But without Brady, the Patriots seem to be a ship without a true captain. Will we see another chapter in Coach Belichick’s storied coaching career?
