NFL Insider Adam Schefter made it official that the Raiders cut off offensive lineman Alex Leatherwood on Tuesday. The athlete was the 17th overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. It adds to his poor reputation as one of the most disastrous draft failures in modern years. It is rare to see that a first-round draft selection a year ago is off from the squad.
As per Yahoo! Sports, Pro Football Focus placed OL Leatherwood No. 80 out of 82 guards in the NFL, which is the absolute lowest among linemen who had played at least 1,000 snaps.
They tried to trade him to eveyone. Got 32 nos. https://t.co/2BwfIyZs4H

Moreover, the preseason also saw him switching from guard to tackle under new HC Josh McDaniels. But it did now work well either. Every franchise in the NFL reportedly rejected him during trade talks, which led to the Men in Black getting rid of him.

A fan called it sad and said that the OL shouldn’t have been selected 17th overall.

If i was his agent i would be on the phone asap with the @Eagles and try to get him in there so he can start learning with the king 👑 of O-Line coaching Jeff Stoutland.

Moreover, a user questioned if he is really mediocre. If not, then the choice would be for the Denver Broncos to get the OL.
Is he really THAT bad? Because honestly I would love for the Broncos to pursue him
