Kareem Hunt might have one of the most interesting stories to begin his career. The running back has seen a decline in production over the years, which has forced the hands of the Browns. Hunt is amongst a rare breed of players, owing to his appearance at the Pro Bowl within his first year in the league. He was drafted in the third round of the 2017 NFL draft by the KC Chiefs in his breakout rookie season. However, the team has taken a decision on the talented RB due to an unfortunate reason.
Although he has been dealt a tough hand as of late, it doesn’t seem like things are on the up for the pro bowler. With news of his deteriorating physical condition, teams have been wary of lingering around too long on his name in free agency. But it seems like his offseason has finally hit its first real roadblock.

Hunt averaged career lows for the Browns last season, especially when playing RB2 alongside Nick Chubb. As the team looks to move forward with its new QB, Deshaun Watson, it would seem like the Browns have no interest in retaining their former top free agent. But unfortunately for Hunt, his future in the NFL isn’t looking too bright following his stint with the Browns.

What lies ahead for Hunt’s future?
With a decline in production and ability, the future looks bleak for Kareem Hunt. As Pluto reported, the RB has seen little to no offers in free agency this offseason. Hunt is looking at a maximum of a $4 million contract. After his previous contract of nearly $6 million a year after his controversies, that is certainly quite the decline.

For a once-prized player, the steep decline is certainly a stunning turn of events for his career. But Hunt will certainly look to come back to his position atop the league, even though the cards might be stacked against him. As he now begins his search for a new home, it remains to be seen what the market for Hunt actually turns out to be. Even with limited capabilities, a number of teams could still make quite a profit from Hunt’s talent and prowess.
