This past Wednesday, news of former NFL player Peyton Hillis shocked the world. The RB was involved in a swimming accident in Pensacola, Florida. He was there on a vacation with his wife and kids. However, after jumping into the waters to save his children’s lives, Hillis required immediate medical attention. The responsible authorities flew the 36-year-old to a hospital, where he was later admitted, to the intensive care unit. Thankfully, owing to the father’s efforts, his kids were physically unhurt and able to come out of the water.

Soon after, the dissemination of the news. There was an increasing amount of support for the former New York Giants. Many notable names have offered their prayers to Hillis and his family in their time of need. While there is also a glowing admiration for the heroics of the RB, who saved his family by risking his own life.

The NFL world comes together to pray for Peyton Hillis

Many notarized names in the community have since come forward to praise Hillis for his bravery and prayed for his recovery as well. The list includes the names of former NFL QB Ryan Clark, Robert Griffin III, Damien Woody, and many more.

Fortunately, there has been a positive development in the case of Hillis. The Uncle of the player, Greg Hillis, took to his Facebook to deliver good news. He wrote, “I just wanted to let everyone know on Razorback Nation that Peyton is doing better. He’s still in intensive care and having some problems with his kidneys and his lungs, but the doctors say he is improving.”

Greg Hillis also revealed, “I just wanted to head off any rumors that may be started. I’m sure he would want everyone to know that he appreciates all of the prayers being thrown up on his behalf.” However, the player is still considered to be in critical condition.

The 36-year-old is also being hailed for his heroics by the majority of NFL fans on Twitter as well. The RB started his career with the Denver Broncos after being drafted in 2008. However, his best season came while wearing the colors of the Cleveland Browns in 2010. He played 16 games in which he rushed for 1157 yards.

He further went on to play for the Kansas City Chiefs for one season. Finally, playing two more with the Giants to end his 7 years career in the league.
