It was raining touchdowns in the Arrowhead Stadium Sunday night when Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen locked horns for a ticket to the AFC Championship game. In the end, the Kansas City Chiefs emerged victorious against the Buffalo Bills in a dramatic overtime spell.

Many criticized the NFL’s take on the coin toss rule to decide the over-time possession. The Chiefs claimed the win in the end. Even though Josh did not even touch the ball during the OT. Many believed it not to be a fair result since both the quarterbacks were equally resilient and competitive during the game.

However, history repeated itself as just as the previous season. The Chiefs downed the Bills in a playoff win at Arrowhead Stadium- the only difference was that instead of the AFC Championship, the two sides met in the Divisional Round. Talking about the clash of the quarterbacks, it was probably the best QB show of the season. Both the youngsters scored four TDs each with no one backing down.

Patrick Mahomes vs. Josh Allen; a battle of the upcoming greats

The winning QB Patrick Mahomes finished with 33 of 44 pass attempts covering 378 yards for three touchdowns and no interceptions. He also made seven carries for 69 yards and a score. While on the other hand, Josh Allen completed 27 passes of 37 attempts covering 329 yards for four touchdowns and no interceptions. Furthermore, he also ran for 11 carries for 68 yards.

It was hard to distinguish which one of the two players played better, but one thing is certain the fight was not over. The two sides will meet again, and the show is going to be even more brutal next time. Mahomes vs. Allen is going to be a next-generation Brady vs. Manning, and Twitter approves it so.
