Purdy’s fabulous performance against the Seven-time Super Bowl Champion made him a ‘Relevant’ prospect from his Mr Irrelevant status in the NFL world. His 35-7 win against the Buccaneers made him the only quarterback to defeat Tom Brady in his first career game as a starter.
It wasn’t just a win but a record-breaking victory leaving no room for the comeback master to shuffle his cards. Recently, the Hall of Famer Deion Sanders praised the youngster for the grit and resilience he showcased against one of the legends of the game.
While speaking alongside the PFFS crew ahead of the Seahawks matchup, Sanders gave his predictions and analyzed the overall approach of the 49ers.
“I see this team playing better defensively. I see this team keeping the main thing, I see this team like Brock Purdy just simplify everything. And he just took what they gave him,” Sanders said.
“I’m pretty sure the OC will say, hey man, take what they give you. And that’s what he did 16 for 21 and 185 with Two TDs I’ll take that. Because I know what the defense is going to do for this team, I am going with San Francisco, although I love Geno,” he added.

“So, for him to have respect for what I did today was pretty cool,” Purdy said. “Being a little kid, watching that guy kill it throughout all these years, win Super Bowls, and then to be able to just even give him a high five or whatever at the end, I thought that was pretty cool,” he added. Indeed, the win shall taste much better in the later stages of his career when he realizes the actual magnitude of the game.
