Ever since getting away from the grid after winning his fourth Super Bowl championship in 2021, Rob Gronkowski has kept fans guessing about a possible return to the game. The former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay TE has never ruled out the chances of a comeback. However, it looks like there is good news for his fans as he seems to have broadened his choice bracket.

Gronk had always stated that if he ever returned to play in the NFL one day, it would be for his one true Super Bowl-winning companion, Tom Brady. However, with Brady’s career twilight nearing more rapidly than Gronk’s, the legendary tight end is not discarding the younger quarterback options in the league.

Rob Gronkowski can see himself pairing up with Josh Allen one day

Gronkowski joined Kay Adams on her show ‘Up & Adams’ to discuss the ongoing super wildcard playoff round action. And Kay couldn’t resist asking the all-important recurring question about Gronk’s playing plans. Surprisingly, Rob had a strange answer this time and didn’t leave much for fans to wonder.

On being asked if he sees himself joining any other QB in the league, the 4x First Team All-Pro TE said that his hometown team, the Buffalo Bills, is a sound choice. However, it wasn’t just the hometown hero factor that brought this about. It is Josh Allen that has convinced Gronk to arrive at this point.

He [Josh Allen] just plays the game freely. It looks like he’s having the most fun out there of all the QBs in the NFL. I love watching a quarterback who looks like he is about to get sacked by three defensive linemen, then somehow escapes the pocket and runs around the linebacker behind the field and then just whips the ball 50 yards down the field for a touchdown,” Gronk told Adams.

Gronk can eat up all the home-ground advantage

Rob Gronkowski thinks Josh Allen is an unbelievable and electrifying talent. However, that is not the only reason why he thinks the Buffalo Bills will be a perfect fit for him in a dream world’s return to the gridiron. Being from Buffalo has its advantages and Gronk wants to juice it to completion if he does come back. And knowing the Highmark Stadium at the back of his hand helps.

Also, I’m from Buffalo and I know the stadium. The Highmark Stadium will just be as electrifying as well,” the 5x Pro-Bowler Arizona recruit said.

With Brady’s contract running out at the end of this season, the TB12 reunion is also not completely off the table for Gronk. However, it looks like Tom Terrific cannot escape the young competition off the field either. Despite reaching 4 Super Bowls, Buffalo has never won the championship. And with Gronkowski’s unique talent, maybe the Bills can finally bring the holy grail Lombardi Trophy to Rochester.
