Fathers hold an important place in our lives and hearts. To many, their fathers are an inspiration – always pushing them to be their best selves. G.O.A.T quarterback, Tom Brady is no exception. The star quarterback’s hero is the very man he is named after – his father.
Tom Brady gets emotional talking about his father
On the occasion of Father’s Day, B/R Grid Iron tweeted a video of Brady from 2017. When asked who his hero is, Tom said it was none other than his father. “I think my dad is my hero. He’s someone that I look up to every day“, the 14-time Pro Bowler said. The NFL star had tears in his eyes as he said this – that’s how important his father is to him.

Brady shares a very close relationship with his parents. He grew up in a happy home surrounded by family. The Bradys would regularly attend the home games of the San Francisco 49ers through Tom’s childhood. Both Tom Sr. and Galynn have been present at every Super Bowl game their son has played so far. Brady Sr. proudly takes credit for his son’s competitive streak. “Everything we did, and I mean everything, like running home from church, throwing a rock the farthest… Everything was a competition. I guess it made things really fun, at least for the winner,” he told the Eagle-Tribune.
Tom’s relationship with his family
The younger Brady is a blend of love and support from a closely-knit family. “After every game, you’d see the entire family, all his sisters, parents, and even some aunts and uncles. They really stuck together. Tommy is definitely a product of that environment. His support system was special,” said John Kirby, a former high-school teammate of Brady’s.

Despite loving his father, Brady Jr. has tried to ban him from talking to the media in the past. “He’s told me, ‘Dad, please respect my privacy,’ ” said Brady Sr. ” ‘If you say something, it comes back at me.’ ” However, the elder Brady not one to stop. “Well, apparently he doesn’t listen because he’s still talking to the media,” the former Super Bowl champion and MVP said on the ‘Greg Hill Show’. Tom added “he’s very forthcoming with information, so I keep telling him, ‘Dad, of course, they are going to keep calling because you keep talking’... What I have learned is I just can’t tell my dad anything. He has his own opinions and dads do what dads do.”
