Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars scripted a historic 27-point comeback to etch their names on the divisional round tickets last week. Next, they will face the AFC’s No 1 seeded side, the Kansas City Chiefs. And before their clash this week, Trevor Lawrence may have inadvertently stirred up some potent emotions in the warrior fanbase.
And it has to do with the venue for this 2nd round of playoff action. Arrowhead Stadium’s noise levels were a point of discussion in Trevor’s press conference before his meeting with Patrick Mahomes. And the media took certain words that Trevor said out of context as Twitter’s Chiefs fans looked fired up.
Trevor Lawrence won’t let the loudness become a factor

23-year-old Lawrence has seen some pretty loud college ground during his record-setting freshman season at Clemson University when he won the national championship. He even played at Lumen Field last year, and surely Trevor knows his way around the decibel levels.
On being asked about the Arrowhead’s excitement levels, the Jacksonville Jaguars signal-caller said, “Yeah, I mean, I think obviously, the environment and the atmosphere we’re going to play in is one of, if not the best in the NFL. But I mean, I can’t imagine it’ll be much louder than our fans were here on Saturday, honestly.”
Much like the rest of the social media toxicity on the internet, Trevor Lawrence‘s words were hand-picked for controversy and the Chiefs inevitably fell for the bait.
Fans think Trevor will have to bite on his arrogance coming Sunday
Duval County was in full swing during the second half of the LA Chargers matchup last Sunday. After a disappointing first half that saw Trevor throw four interceptions, the crowd were almost planning a trip back home when the Big Cats jumped back. Lawrence completed the game with 4 touchdowns and 288 passing yards. But underestimating the home crowd while they root for Mahomes and Co is a bad idea.
He’s played in lumen last year and some loud college stadiums. I doubt he’ll be fazed

He played in stadiums packed with 100k fans in college. In some of the biggest games. I think the golden boy will be fine.

I love how everyone is taking this out of context. Dude had a whole long answer about how crazy and loud it will be and this is what they pick out.

However, things might not be so easy against the league’s passing yards (5,250) and touchdowns (41) leader this season, Patrick Mahomes. And Chiefs fans assume Trevor will have to eat the words with a blowout defeat.

Lawrence appreciated the Arrowhead’s electric environment. And for Chiefs fans to consider this a shot at their home ground is beyond childish and without adequate research. Also, Mahomes had 4 touchdowns against Lawrence’s 2 in their Week 10 face-off this season. The Chiefs cruised past 27-17 last time and Trevor and Co are looking for revenge.
