Colin Kaepernick has always had a penchant for speaking up for the causes he believes in. He has been a huge voice in speaking up against racism and discrimination in the NFL. He has even been blackballed out of the league, despite having the desire to continue playing. However, he does not stop. In his journey of righteousness, the quarterback has obviously irked a lot of people. However, he has also gained the support of a lot of people.

Recently, an unexpected source showcased his support for Kaepernick. An American Special Forces officer, actor, and former NFL player, Nate Boyer, have had no compulsion in holding back on his support for Kaepernick. He went on to showcase his support for Kaepernick’s controversial comments. Even though his words have been some of the most controversial in NFL history, Boyer voiced his words in support of Kaepernick.

While Kaepernick kneeling during the national anthem garnered a tremendous reaction, so did his comments about slavery. The former San Francisco 49ers QB had gone on to make a brutal comparison between the NFL and slavery. On his Netflix special, Colin in Black and White, the former quarterback went on to state that the NFL is like modern-day slavery. A comment such as this obviously became very controversial.

However, despite the hate he garnered for such a comment, Boyer showcased his support for Kaepernick. During the podcast with David Hookstead, the Green Beret spoke about how Kaepernick is allowed to have his own opinion. He also said, “He has a big heart. But you know these are decisions people make on their own and he certainly has his reasons as to why he feels the way he does.” Boyer spoke about how he wasn’t in touch with Kaepernick when he made that comment. Nevertheless, the actor mentioned that Kaepernick probably has a reason to react the way he did.

Furthermore, the former QB is going to make another appearance on Netflix. He has declared that he is collaborating with an Oscar-nominated director for his latest Netflix project.

The QB is going to be helping in bringing to life the story of his younger high school self to Netflix. His intention for the show is to reveal the complex nuances of how the life of a young Black student-athlete functioned. It is going to be interesting to see what his latest endeavor on Netflix will reveal about the football world.
