1. Patrick Mahomes bagged the Texas Tech’s best QB title:
A three-star prospect at Whitehouse High School led them to their first-ever district title and an impressive 12-1 record. He continued to shine at Texas Tech, breaking the Big 12 freshman record with 598 passing yards in a single game against Baylor.
2. Mahomes’ impressive arm strength:
During his 2017 NFL draft pro day, Mahomes showcased his exceptional passing skills, leaving everyone in awe with an almost 80-yard pass after completing his scripted drills, emphasizing the fact that “he has a big arm.”
3. Mahomes ‘doubtful draft’ & ‘unbelievable comeback’:
The Kansas City Chiefs drafted Mahomes as the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NFL draft. And the Chiefdom was in doubt about Mahomes’ future and ability. In his rookie season, he had limited playing time as Alex Smith’s backup.

Mahomes is among five quarterbacks mentored by Kingsbury for their NFL careers. Others include Davis Webb, Case Keenum, Nic Shimonek, and Johnny Manziel.

5. Teammates make fun of Patrick Mahomes’ voice:
Mahomes’ distinctive “frog-like voice” sets him apart. While sports leaders often have commanding voices, Mahomes bucks the trend. But for his “froggish voice,” his teammates and coach playfully poke fun at it.
