The Julio Jones trade saga is finally done and dusted. The 2-time All-Pro, who spent a decade with the Atlanta Falcons, finally had his wish come true by being traded to the Tennessee Titans.
A former first-round pick, Jones had been a loyal servant to the Falcons franchise. But years of disappointment and uncertainty led the wide receiver to force a move from Atlanta.
The Falcons had earlier stated that they would be willing to listen to offers of Jones. But the relationship quickly turned sour when the wide receiver made his desire public on live television.

The episode aired weeks before Jones was ultimately traded. But his statement on the show riled up the Falcons and fan base and management alike.
“I’m outta there,” Jones has said in reply to Sharpe’s question. While there’s no real issue with stating one’s desire to leave a franchise, what kicked up a storm was whether Julio Jones was even aware that the call was put on speaker for the entire world to hear.

Sharpe did not once tell Jones after picking up that the cast was filming for an episode of the show. This raised several questions about journalism ethics and principles.
Some felt that Jones must’ve been made aware beforehand about the conversation being aired on TV. But NFL insider Albert Breer believes that this was certainly not the case.
“I have it on good authority that Jones had no clue that he was on national TV when he said to FS1’s Shannon Sharpe, ‘I’m outta there’ two weeks ago, which led to his trade request becoming public,” he said.
