Notably, Jones was 14-15 years old when the photo was taken. According to reports, he was standing in a crowd while attempting to stop 6 African American students from entering the North Little Rock High School. After receiving plenty of criticism from various outlets, he found support in Stephen A. Smith, one of his great friends and a high-profile personality on TV.
Stephen A. Smith shows support for Jerry Jones regarding his photo controversy
During the latest episode of ESPN’s ‘First Take’, Lifelong Cowboys fan Stephen A. Smith looked really upset with the whole controversy, as he felt bad for Jones. “I’m p*ssed off, but not for reasons that people would think. I’m very, very fond of Jerry Jones and I’m not hiding that from anybody. But I’m p*ssed off because he doesn’t deserve what just happened,” A Smith stated.

Despite feeling bad for Jones, he blasted the incident, which took place in the North Little Rock High School. According to him, nobody should be okay with what happened in that school. However, he has one problem with the whole controversy with Jones.
“To some degree, we still deal with a lot of things and we all know it. Racism is alive and well. Bigotry and prejudice is alive and well, we get all of that… But you are going to bring up a photo of him when he was 14,15 years old, 65, or 66 years ago. This is where cancer culture gets into the mix and you are making an attempt to eradicate him, what he stands for, and all he has done,” A. Smith further stated.

According to him, if Jones was an adult in that photo, that would have been problematic. Moreover, A. Smith found this ridiculous that a 65-66-year-old photo created controversy in 2022.
