While the NFL world is praying for the safety’s recovery, many have tried to explain what exactly happened that fateful night. And one of them is former NFL linebacker, Bart Scott. Scott has pointed out at Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Tee Higgins for the freak incident with Hamlin.

Hamlin collapsed on the field after a tackle with Higgins in the first quarter of the week 17 clash between the Buffalo Bills and the Bengals.

The former NFL linebacker turned analyst Bart Scott thinks the blame for what happened with Damar Hamlin lies with Tee Higgins. Speaking on ESPN’s ‘First Take’, Scott shared his baffling opinion of what Higgins did that resulted in Hamlin going down.

“Right before the tackle, he lowers his helmet, he kinda throws his body into his chest. He’s standing up because he thinks he’s gotta chase Tee Higgins at an angle to make a tackle. So, he didn’t expect Tee Higgins to launch his body back into him. It’s one of those things that a lot of time you see as a linebacker, when a running back comes into the hole, and he knows the contact is coming so he lowers his helmet so you can’t get underneath him. So, he’s able to get into you, your chest is exposed,” Scott said

Scott then went on to say that he expects the NFL to be more vigilant about such a penalty in the future after this unfortunate incident.
