During the 2020 Republican National Convention, RB Walker publicly admires Trump. He mentions via Newsweek “I care about all of those things, and so does Donald Trump. He shows how much he cares about social justice and the Black community through his actions. And his actions speak louder than any stickers or slogans on a jersey.”

At the Nation Convention, the pro football legend also supported the former president’s standpoint on athletes kneeling during the national anthem. The attention might move towards Colin Kaepernick, as Trump had some harsh words for the ex-49ers QB because of his protests.

For nearly 40 years, Herschel Walker has had a “deep, personal friendship” with Donald Trump. Apart from the NFL, the RB was also in the USFL and was under the Trump umbrella. According to Sportingnews, Walker and Trump have been friends since the early 1980s, when Trump bought the New Jersey Generals of the USFL. RB Herschel Walker was a member of the franchise at that time.

As per Sportscasting, the Dallas Cowboys picked Walker in the fifth round of the 1985 draft in case the USFL ended its operations. Walker signed with the Cowboys in 1986, so it all worked out. He also played for the Minnesota Vikings and the Philadelphia Eagles besides the Cowboys.
