A former NFL Linebacker, who had successfully ventured into the realm of selling Pokemon cards, has found himself facing a ban amidst speculations of engaging in questionable activities.

This former linebacker, who had remarkably made a staggering $11.5 million in revenue within a year, has now been slapped with a ban from the very platform that pushed his fortune.

Blake Martinez accused of scamming

NFL journalist Dov Kleiman’s tweet recently revealed a stunning development in the world of Pokémon card trading. Former NFL Linebacker Blake Martinez has reportedly faced a permanent ban from reselling Pokémon cards on the Whatnot platform, following allegations of scamming collectors.

Sharing the news Kleiman wrote, ”Former NFL LB Blake Martinez has reportedly been permanently banned from reselling Pokémon cards on Whatnot over scamming collectors.” He further shared the statement from Whatnot which stated, “After a comprehensive investigation into Blakesbreaks’ operations we have decided to permanently remove the seller from our platform, including the individual employees involved in misconduct.

The former NFL linebacker’s transition from the football field to the Pokemon card arena has been nothing short of remarkable. Retiring from the NFL in 2022, Martinez embarked on a new journey, opening a Pokémon card selling company. Within less than a year, his enterprise raked in an impressive $11.5 million in revenue, as reported by The Athletic.

Drafted in 2016 by the Green Bay Packers, Martinez’s rookie season showcased his potential, contributing to the Packers’ NFC North victory. After stamping his presence for the Packers, Martinez’s journey reached a turning point when he transitioned to the New York Giants, where his game evolved further. Moreover, in his first year with the Giants, Martinez maintained his reputation as a reliable force, showcasing impressive numbers in tackles, sacks, and forced fumbles.

However, a setback in the form of a torn ACL disrupted his trajectory, eventually leading to his departure from the team. Furthermore, after the Giants, Martinez embraced a new chapter with the Las Vegas Raiders. Nevertheless, he took an unexpected retirement during the middle of a season, which left the NFL community surprised.
