During an interview, a reporter asked Jones about Prescott’s game after his return from injury. He talked about not seeing any run-pass option from Prescott, as it would help him to get out of the pocket more often.

After hearing about it, Sharpe commented, “I hated it because he second guessing his coaching. So, now Jerry Jones is basically said I know better than what my coaches what would work best for this team. Listen, Jerry Jones does not know formations… he does not know coverages. Jerry Jones is not sitting up in his office looking at film what defenses are doing, he’s not.“
“All he is getting is write-ups about the install about what they are gonna do and that’s what Jerry does. He just comes out here regurgitates what he heard somebody says on one of these channels about run-pass option with Dak Prescott. That’s not thorough analysis of him watching film, watching the Cowboys play, that’s not what he’s doing. But I hate that. He does this to his coaches,” he further said.

Sharpe further talked about Prescott’s strength as a quarterback and that is his pocket passing ability. During this conversation, Skip Bayless also agreed with him and called the head coach of the Cowboys, Mike McCarthy, a puppet, and Jones a puppet master.
It is worth noting that Jones previously warned the head coach, Jason Garrett, and his staff in 2019 regarding their decisions on the field. Previously, Jones undermined his coaches on plenty of occasions, which caused their downfall. So far, Dallas has a great record, winning 5 games, and even won their last game against the Lions as well. After a great performance, Jones’ words may not go down well with the coaching unit.
Moreover, it could create confusion in Prescott’s mind regarding his performance. Especially after a decent display against the Lions on Sunday. Most Cowboys fans are happy to see Prescott return and they would be hoping for a playoff run this year even though they are sitting in the third on the NFC East table, behind the Eagles and the Giants.
