Highlighting the trend, the NFL insider Adam Schefter tweeted stating, “Quinnen Williams now is the first Jets’ player selected in round one to sign a second contract with the organization since Muhammad Wilkerson, whom they picked in 2011”. He further added, “No Jets players selected in the first round from 2012-2018 had signed second contracts with the team.
