For any parent, one of the hardest struggles is learning to accept their children’s choices. Especially to see your own future generations reject a field that you have embraced all your life. Just ask Tom Brady, and he’ll tell you all about it. For the NFL star, adjusting to his son’s outlook on Brady’s first love was a tough pill to swallow.

Brady, of course, is a devoted father to his 3 children, Vivian (10), Benjamin (13) and Jack (15). The QB is especially fond of his first child with his ex-wife and supermodel Gisele Bundchen. While Benjamin might be the son of none other than the GOAT of football, it seems that the genetic passion for sports is not something carried across the lineage. Brady revealed that he had initially tried to get his son to participate in sports, saying, “C’mon, let’s do this,” only to be met with a resounding “nope.”

With their own passions and their own interests, their hobbies are not genetically linked with the GOAT’s DNA.

Brady’s journey toward acceptance is not unique, as many parents struggle with their children’s choices and interests. It’s essential to recognize that our children are not extensions of ourselves, but rather individuals with their own paths to follow. For Brady, this wasn’t an easy decision to accept, but much like his high IQ and patience on the field, he surely had the will and space of mind to embrace his own son’s life choices.
