Tom Brady praises Jimmy Garoppolo
Tom Brady praised Garoppolo on his ‘Let’s Go’ podcast a day after the 49ers defeated the reigning Super Bowl champions Los Angeles Rams. He said that the 49ers are a well-coached side. He also praised the QB’s performance against the Rams.
“Jimmy played some great moves. There was a touchdown pass he threw to Christian McCaffrey. That was a great throw. It was a kind of an ad-lib play and Christian made a great play going up to the ball. So, Jimmy is playing well, and that’s what it takes. You gotta get a consistent level of play from your quarterback,” Brady said about the week eight game.
Brady then went on to praise Garoppolo for his career at the 49ers.
“Jimmy’s done well since he got to the Niners. He has brought them to the Super Bowl, and he has just done an amazing job,” Brady said.“I think anytime you deal with the adversity that he has dealt with, he had a major shoulder injury, he had a thumb injury in the playoffs last year. Then all he hears is that he is gonna get traded. Next thing you know, he is the starting quarterback for the same team. And I think he has handled this situation extremely well. Handled it with a lot of dignity, with a lot of grace. And he has gone out there and helped the team win games,” he said about the offseason events that surrounded Garoppolo.
Garoppolo’s season so far
After almost getting traded in the offseason, Jimmy G has really come very far. That is what got him the praise from the great Tom Brady. The QB was almost traded to the Washington Commanders before he opted to go for surgery due to an injury. But he has shown the 49ers what they would have missed if the trade had gone through.
The shot-caller has completed 140 of his 210 pass attempts this season with four interceptions. Garoppolo has thrown 11 touchdown passes and a total of 1691 yards for his team this season.
