Justin Fields is one of the most exciting quarterback prospects in this year’s draft. The Buckeyes quarterback had an impressive season last year, helping his team reach the national championship game.

However, since then, his stock has fallen significantly, and many analysts have tipped them to go outside of the Top-10. The New England Patriots will be hoping for that.

Former NFL player Brandon Marshall spoke recently about the New England Patriots trying to get Justin Fields. He noted that the franchise had done a good job in free agency, signing some important players.

However, the team has to do a lot of planning as to who they can bring in. And Marshall doesn’t think it can be Justin Fields, as he won’t be around by the time the Patriots get to select with their #11 overall pick.

“They made an explosion in free agency and signed a bunch of players. But they’re sitting at 15, they don’t need to move back. They need to figure out who can come in and help them out right now.

“I know it looks good on paper, but this team last year, they weren’t talented. This whole thing about a dream scenario, maybe it’s a hallucination. Come on, this dude is not going to be sitting there at 11.”

Justin Fields to the Patriots- Too good to be true?

Marshall noted that there are at least 7 teams that could or will bring in a quarterback through the draft. He explained that the Top-3 picks in the draft that belong to Jacksonville, New York Jets, and the 49ers will go into the quarterback position.

But there are several other teams above the Patriots who could snatch up Fields, leaving the Patriots without their ‘dream scenario’.

“There’s seven teams that could potentially take a quarterback or are taking a quarterback. We know the Jags, the Jets are taking a quarterback.

“You don’t give up three first-rounders in San Francisco to not take a quarterback…This is more than a dream, we’re not going to see this happen. Justin Fields won’t get past three.”

Where will Justin Fields end up at the start of next season? Most of the mock drafts in recent weeks have tipped him to be picked outside the Top-5, and possibly Top-10. The Patriots will be hoping that his stock falls further so that they get a clear path to Fields.
