The NFL announced on Monday that the two sides would meet to kick-start the 2022 preseason. And as the tradition goes, two days later, Raiders standout players Cliff Branch and Richard Seymour and the Jaguars’ all-time great Tony Boselli will be heading to enshrine their busts in Canton, Ohio.
NFL Twitter displeased with the Hall of Fame Game
The first game of the preseason will be headed by Josh McDaniels Head Coach of Las Vegas Raiders, and Doug Pederson, Head Coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars. But as much as there is excitement in the air for this game, there is also a sense of resentment in the air.
NFL fans had their heads over heels on Twitter after the announcement of the Hall of Fame fixture. Fans also highlighted that the banner featured the starting quarterbacks of both teams, knowing that neither Derek Carr nor Trevor Lawrence would play in the preseason.

Your reminder that the NFL Hall of Fame game, the most meaningless game in all of football, regularly draws more viewers than the NBA Finals https://t.co/jIUoQZ3rNg

Idk why the Hall of Fame game ads feature Derek Carr and Trevor Lawrence. Neither will play. The banner should feature Nathan Peterman and Trey Ragas 😅

Furthermore, displeased fans also know that even though it is referred to as a Hall of Fame Game, it won’t be as interesting to see. Since neither of the teams would line up their best squad in it. It is always pointed out by NFL enthusiasts that the Hall of Fame Game should be a regular-season game. The fact, that it’s instead a preseason game, many would rather skip on it as it won’t be as intense and action-packed.
